  近日,上海闵行区协和双语教科学EMW融合课程联合副校长Mr. Adam Flower做客名校来了第二十八届国际教育择校咨询会现场访谈间。

  Q1:请问学校初中阶段的课程体系是如何在上海政策框架内完成国际教育探索、帮孩子打好基础的?

  Mr. Adam Flower:学校严格遵守国家各项规章制度,遵循会考课程体系,由专业老师授课,同时加入融合课程元素,与当地课程相互配合、互为补充。例如,学生既学习中教老师教授的中国历史,也修读由外教老师执教的世界历史。此类双轨教学不仅限于历史学科,还涵盖其他多门课程。通过这样的安排,学生既能吸收两种课程体系的精华,又能扎实掌握国家课程内容,同时培养出在国际课程体系中取得成功所需的能力与习惯,为今后在校内及未来的学习发展奠定基础。

  Mr. Adam Flower:We follow the HUI KAO curriculum, which is delivered by local experts. However, we do have our own blend of international courses which work in tandem with the local courses. So, for instance, a student would follow a Chinese history course delivered by a local expert, but they'd also follow a world history course delivered by an overseas expert. That's one example, there are other examples across a number of subjects. Students get to see the best of both worlds.

  They do not fall behind in terms of the local curriculum, yet they also are equipped with the skills and habits to be able to succeed on an international curriculum, both in our school and at their next school.

    Q2:请问在初中阶段,有哪些具体方法可以通过家校配合高效提升孩子自我管理与学习能力?

  Mr. Adam Flower:家校协作对学生的成长至关重要。学校建议家长每日与孩子交流学校生活,了解其兴趣与遇到的困难,从而及时掌握孩子的在校情况。家长应为孩子提供安静的学习环境与安全可靠的学习支持,并熟悉课程安排,协助孩子提前准备次日所需物品,如体育课用品或相应的书籍等。日常沟通与适当辅导有助于家长了解孩子的学习内容,也能在互动中共同享受学习过程。

  Mr. Adam Flower:It's very important that parents talk on a daily basis with their children about school.Ask them what they like, perhaps ask them what they are finding difficult at school, so they themselves know the issues that their sons and daughters face on the campus.They can also help by ensuring that students have a quiet place in which to do their homework, have access to safe and secure facilities to help them do their homework, be it technology or other items.Also to ensure they know what their child's timetable is and help prepare for the subjects for the next day. If your child has PE, make sure they've got their PE kit ready.If they have a history lesson, make sure they know it's either a Chinese history lesson or world history lesson and have the books ready.And it's also a good practice for parents to talk to their children and seek to help them with their homework. They will then find out what their children are learning.They might remember their own school days and how interesting they were in terms of learning, and they will enjoy the experience together with their child.

    Q3:请问学校具体通过哪些机制实现对学生个性化成长的持续跟踪与赋能?

  Mr. Adam Flower:学校会为每名学生配备对应的专业导师。每日早晨,导师除进行考勤外,还负责督促学生做好课前准备,包括检查着装规范。该时段也为学生提供了向导师反映个人问题的机会。此外,学校设有身心健康顾问,学生可随时就校内或家庭中相关问题进行专门咨询。学校鼓励学生与家长积极把握校内各类机会,以促进学生的全面发展和优异表现。学生的发展平台涵盖课堂、舞台、运动场及志愿活动等多个领域,其主动参与是关键。通过充分学习,学生将在离校时积累令他们引以为豪的成长经历、建立自信,并向家长、后续学校及大学展示其综合素质。

  Mr. Adam Flower:Every child has a mentor teacher in our school who is the first person they see in the school day.8: 20. Not only do they register them, they make sure that the child is ready for the lessons ahead, that they are dressed correctly in their uniform, and this is also an opportunity for children to, uh, talk with about any issues they might have with their mental teacher.We also have a well being advisor where children can talk to a specific person about any issues they might have in school and also issues they might have at home that the school might be able to help them with.We always say to our children and to our parents that if you take the opportunities that are available to you, you will succeed in our school.Not only will you succeed, you will thrive, you will do very well. There are lots of opportunities for our children to thrive and succeed, be it in the classroom, be it on the stage, be it in the sporting field, the sporting arena.They might want to volunteer at events like this, but it is, onus is on the child, not necessarily the parents, the teacher, is on the child to take those opportunities that are available to them.And if they do that, they will leave our school with a very good legacy and something they can be proud of and show to their parents and their future school and university.

    Q4:回顾这一年学校的发展,您有什么最想跟家长、学生们分享?

  Mr. Adam Flower:今年以来,学校已成功举办多项社区活动。例如,之前举办的慈善嘉年华吸引了在校生、潜在新生及校友共同参与,为公益事业募集资金。学校亦定期开展“与教师见面”活动,提供对融合课程教育感兴趣的家庭体验特色课程。每年四月,学校还举办国际美食与友谊节,以展现社区多样性。学生可通过选择特定国家或菜系进行探究,了解异国文化,体验不同的风俗习惯与社会风貌。

  Mr. Adam Flower:We've had a lot of community events this year that have been a big success. For instance, we did our November charity carnival and the weather was fantastic, so we had current students, potential students, former students all coming back to celebrate and raise money for a good cause together.We also have a lot of meet the teacher events, so people who are wondering about our bilingual education can come and actually see what it's about.They can put their son and daughter in one of our specialist classes and see how they enjoy those classes.And also in April, we have our International Food and Friendship Festival, which celebrates the diversity of the community.Students can focus on a particular country or particular cuisine and learn what it's like to live outside their own country and experience different customs and traits and trends from other countries.(图文/彩丽)
